About Dr. Groves
J. William Groves, Jr., MD, FACOG, Obstetrics & Gynecology
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Groves has built a solid reputation in Southwest Louisiana providing the highest quality healthcare services available to women. A lake area native, Dr. Groves graduated from McNeese State University and the Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Medicine in Shreveport.
While in medical school, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society and was given the Chancellor’s Award upon graduation. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center, Scott and White, in Temple, Texas before returning home to the lake area. While in residency, he was named American Urogynecological Society Resident Scholar and served as chief administrative resident.
In addition to specializing in general and high risk obstetrics, Dr. Groves provides women with advanced pelvic surgery options including minimally invasive surgical techniques and urogynecological surgery. He became an accredited member of the American Institute of Minimally Invasive surgery in 2012. He was one of the first physicians in Louisiana to receive this certification.
Dr. Groves is committed to his wife and children and looks forward to family devotion time at the end of each day. He enjoys running, aviation, and being involved in the community.
